It's now possible for viewers in the UK to watch both BBC shows, and programmes such as What Not to Wear, Skins and The Apprentice for free online, with the advent of several new services. The success of the BBC iPlayer has opened the playing field for a lucrative, UK market for video on demand (VOD)

SeeSaw

This week sees the launch of the new VoD service, SeeSaw. The service has secured deals with Channel Five and Channel 4, to allow the broadcast of 7-day catch up on a wide range of programmes, and although there is no formal deal with ITV, some content from the channel is available. The site offers over 3,000 hours of television, including shows like Neighbours, Hollyoaks, Home and Away and Green Wing. Another batch of some 2,000 hours of television will be added in June, including a number of US titles.
